Program Outline:
- Consultation: Medical evaluation, including lab work, performed by one of our providers to ensure that semaglutide is right for you before beginning treatment. This consultation will include full history and medication review, review of lab work, education on semaglutide and the injection process, documented start weight and waist circumference, consent for treatment, and before pictures.
- Weekly Semaglutide injections: The patient will receive the first injection in the clinic and be thoroughly educated on self-administration at home. Everything needed for injection (medication vial, syringes, needles, alcohol wipes, and a sharps container) will be provided.
- Weekly Support: One of our staff will reach out weekly to ensure that you are on the right track with your journey. Any concerns or questions will be addressed. Every 4 weeks the patient will be seen in clinic for a weight check, lab review, brief exam, and to receive a new vial of medication. The drug will be titrated up every 4 weeks as tolerated for maximum benefit.
Side effects of Semaglutide:
Common side effects include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal discomfort
- Heartburn
- Constipation or diarrhea
Less common side effects can occur, these include:
- Allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling of face, mouth, throat, or eyes)
- Decreased urination
- Swelling in extremities
- Dizziness or fainting
- Rapid HR
- Changes in vision
